Our mission is to provide personalized social and medical supports to elders who may be at risk for nursing home placement.  We operate two programs: Adult Day Health and Day Away Alzheimer’s Care. These programs allow medically frail elders to remain living at home and in their communities with a wide array of supports.

Both programs are held in the beautiful Briarcliff Lodge in Lynn, Massachusetts. Briarcliff is light, spacious and the location is both peaceful and easily accessible. The extensive banks of windows assure a flood of sunlight and beautiful views of Sluice Pond enhance the environment.

We provide meaningful educational and recreational programs daily. Many activities are intergenerational. Our Expressive Arts Therapist provides enriching art, music, movement and educational programs. Our medical staff monitors health needs, dispenses medications, coordinates care and provides health education. Personal care services including showers and toileting are discretely and respectfully provided.  Exercise coordinators lead safe daily programs that provide energizing movements and relaxation. Participants who need to rest during the day have a quiet space in the building to do so. Favorable weather allows members to take walks and enjoy views of the pond. We provide a nutritious breakfast and hot lunch to fit all dietary needs.  Finally there is time for relaxing and socializing. Participants can also choose community trips to local places of interest such as the farmers market, beaches, museums, restaurants, shopping, seasonal celebrations, and visits to the hairdresser.

Briarcliff Social Work staff coordinate enrollment, assist families with transportation and payment options, and assist with long term care planning. Caregiver programs provide education, respite and support.

Student interns from area colleges and universities learn about our services and participants while providing many hours of care.

The Staff

Our compassionate staff consists of experienced Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Activity Professionals and Expressive Therapists, Social Workers, and Certified Nursing Assistants.  Briarcliff has many partnerships with rehabilitative services, podiatrists, hospice, homecare, and physicians. Monthly training is provided to all staff to assure that skills and certifications are current to ensure the highest level of quality care.
